Karnataka’s state government assists economically disadvantaged people through the Basava Vasathi Yojana, which provides up to 85% of construction materials.

It was followed by the Kudambashree plan, which was implemented to identify those who were left out of the Karnataka government’s decentralised poverty alleviation programmes.

The Gram Panchayat was entrusted with creating bespoke micro-projects for each home in the community as part of a one-of-a-kind initiative under the scheme. The RGRHCL planned to support the Ashraya Yojana with contributions from Gram Panchayats, Block Panchayats, and District Panchayats, as well as funding from the Central and State governments.
